Enjoy the exotic sandy beaches and clear oceans of Hawaii in this exciting Wheel of Fortune online slots game from IGT gaming company. This online slots game is optimized for mobile, so Android and iOS users can join in on the fun, on the go.
It’s a 5 reel, 25 payline slot with a maximum jackpot of up to 1,000 x your wager in the special jackpot bonus feature. This Vegas style slot is great for those who love the opportunity to win big – there’s cash bonuses, extra pointers, and even access into different bonus round levels.
Starting the Game
This game is based on the very popular game show Wheel of Fortune. This particular version is set in Hawaii, with ukulele music playing in the background.
The reels are surrounded by a bamboo border and the background is an inviting beach with sparkling sand. When the reels spin, fans of the Wheel of Fortune TV show will recognize the iconic “boop-boop-boop” of the spinning wheel.
Wagers start at $0.05 and go all the way up to $250 when all reels and paylines are maxed out. The return-to-player varies from 93% to 96%, depending on whether you’re hitting the bonus features on a regular basis.
Symbols in Hawaiian Getaway slot game include the low-value icons of the a Vegas deck. The five higher value symbols each depict a fun aspect of Hawaii, starting with Lava, the lowest value special symbol.
Next is Aloha, the beach, followed by a Tiki statue in the traditional Hawaiian motif.
The highest two are the hula dancing girl and the Surfer hanging ten on a big wave. The wild card is easy to sport – it’s the word WILD written in bamboo.
Scatter wilds are the Wheel of Fortune TV logo – the big wheel. Six of these anywhere on the reels will trigger the bonus features – there’s two in this game, so once the scatters start dropping, the game gets a little more complicated.
Bonus Features in Wheel of Fortune
There are a few different bonuses features Wheel of Fortune: Hawaiian Getaway online slot.
Big Kahuna Bonus
When three fully stacked premium symbols drop onto adjacent reels, then you’ll trigger a re-spin. The three reels where the premium symbols land are locked as one large 3×3 symbol.
If more symbols stack onto adjacent reels, the player will receive another re-spin. Payouts are larger here and increase as the number of re-spins increases. Each additional premium symbol adds to the multiplier.

During the re-spins, only premium symbols drop – none of the lower value ones. Your wager remains what it was when the re-spin feature triggered.
Multipliers start at 2x that wager and go up to 5x if more matching premium symbols drop. If you end up with a full-screen premium symbol, the 5×3 all-line win will pay out at 62.5 times your initial wager! This is rare, but really exciting when it happens.
Big Bonus
When six or more scatter wild symbols appear on the reel, then the Wheel of Fortune Bonus feature triggers. This bonus feature includes Free Spins, Pointer Frenzy, and Jackpot Bonuses.
The reels change at this point, and little prize wedges that are reminiscent of the Wheel on the TV show appear. The Free Spins wedge gives 10 free spins, but it can be re-triggered during these free spins with a cap of 120 total free spins.
Pointer Frenzy adds more winning pointers – the wedges – and will re-spin the Wheel of Fortune wheel, which contains different prizes including coins and free spins (too bad there’s no trip to Hawaii or a free car!). Sometimes, the Pointer Frenzy will also drop Jackpot Bonus spins, but this is rare – I only found it happen once.
Big Money
The five fixed jackpots on the reels are the Big Money Bonus feature. They’re fixed at the top of the game reels and will trigger when the Bonus wheel lands on the Jackpot Bonus wedge.
When it drops, the player will receive one spin on the Jackpot Wheel. It has high-value wedges, colored gold, green, silver, purple, and blue.
You’ll win from 20x your stake (for the blue) all the way up to 1,000x your wager (for the gold). Every spin has the potential to win, as there are no blank or the dreaded “bankrupt” wedges on the Jackpot Wheel
The Verdict
Big Wave Japanese Slot Machines
Wheel of Fortune: Hawaiian Getaway is thrilling, with a huge payout potential. While new players may need to take a few minutes to get used to the bonus features, the gameplay is straightforward and the graphics are sharply designed.
All in all, the game is a lot of fun to play, especially the mobile-friendly one!
